Cascadia Liquor is proposing some changes to the Quadra Village shopping experience. Motivated to provide an enhanced customer experience through site improvements, the Cascadia Quadra location is applying to move to a larger location right behind its existing location in the Quadra Village Shopping Centre.

Proposed new location of the Cascadia Liquor store

“We are excited about the possibility of expanding our product selection and providing an even better shopping experience to Victoria residents,” says Cascadia Quadra General Manager, Ann Brydle. “We are looking for community support as we apply to the City of Victoria for a Development Variance Permit”.

Cascadia is asking for the community to support their expansion/relocation by signing their petition. This can be done at the current Cascadia Quadra location (across from Fairway Market) or at a community open house taking place on Saturday February 3rd from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.  The open house will be in the old Aaron’s location at Quadra Village Shopping Centre.

Cascadia management believe that the expansion will improve both the overall shopping experience and the parking and delivery logistics at the shopping centre. The intended space (formerly Aaron’s) was once a provincial government liquor store and is better set-up for security and deliveries.

Cascadia Quadra Village is also committed to its “Good Neighbour” policy that sets a closing time corresponding with other retail neighbours, prohibits the sale of single portions of wine, beer, or spirits and maintains a restrictive volume recycling program for bottles and cans.

Manager, Ann Brydle

“The new site improvements will create easier and safer receiving and processing of product,” says Ann “which is currently handled on the exterior sidewalk causing disruption to neighbouring tenants and customers, and increasing traffic congestion.”

Cascadia Quadra has been serving the community since 2009 and the store has proven itself to be a positive  community partner. The envisioned new store will be bright and modern, with wide aisles, inviting sightlines, and an extended product range with a focus on local producers, organic products, and hard-to-find products from the Pacific Northwest and around the world. Customers will also have the opportunity to taste new flavours during weekly product tastings.
